How Delegance Works

Step-by-step walkthroughs of the five most common self-service flows. Every step works in the portal, ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, by phone, or by email.

How to get a Certificate of Insurance (COI) in 60 seconds

Time: ~60 seconds

Generate a carrier-formatted ACORD 25 Certificate of Insurance in seconds via portal, ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, email, or phone.

  1. Open Delegance from any channel. Open the Delegance portal at portal.delegancebrokerage.com, the "Delegance Insurance" ChatGPT app, the Claude connector, the Slack @Orin app, or call 844-357-0840. Conversation history persists across all channels.
  2. Ask Orin to generate a COI. Type or say: "Generate a COI for {holder name} at {address}". Orin pulls the active policy data, the holder details, and the certificate template.
  3. Review the certificate. Orin returns the carrier-formatted ACORD 25 (or ACORD 28 for properties) for review. Edit the additional-insured language, holder address, or coverage rows inline if needed.
  4. Send or download. Email the COI directly to the certificate holder, download as PDF, or have Orin upload it to the holder's vendor portal. No broker email round-trip.

How to request a multi-carrier commercial insurance quote

Time: Submit in 5 min · quotes within ~24 hours

Submit a quote request via portal, ChatGPT, Claude, or email and receive multi-carrier quotes typically within 24 hours.

  1. Open the quote intake. In the portal, click "Quotes → New Quote". Or ask Orin in ChatGPT/Claude/Slack: "Start a quote for general liability and workers comp for my business."
  2. Provide business details. Orin prompts for the necessary intake: business name, FEIN, operations description, payroll, revenue, locations, prior carriers, claim history. Most fields are pre-filled from your existing onboarding data.
  3. Confirm coverage and limits. Orin recommends limits and lines based on your industry, size, and contractual requirements. You can override.
  4. Receive multi-carrier quotes. Delegance submits to the carrier panel for your vertical. Quotes typically return within 24 hours. Side-by-side comparison appears in the portal — same data shown in ChatGPT/Claude/Slack via cross-channel memory.
  5. Pick a carrier and proceed to bind. Choose a quote and proceed to bind. No phone call required.

How to bind a commercial insurance policy without a phone call

Time: ~15 minutes

Once a quote is selected and underwriting clears, complete bind online — no phone call, no scanned signature emails.

  1. Select the quote you want to bind. In the portal, on the quote you selected, click "Bind". Or tell Orin in ChatGPT/Claude/Slack: "Bind the {carrier} quote."
  2. Review final terms. Orin presents the carrier's final binder terms — premium, effective date, financing, surplus lines taxes, broker fees. Confirm or request changes.
  3. E-sign required carrier forms. Sign carrier-required forms (signed application, surplus lines disclosures, financing agreement) directly in the portal. No print-scan-email.
  4. Pay or finance. Pay the bind premium directly or set up premium finance. Both options run inline in the portal.
  5. Receive the binder. Carrier binder arrives in your portal inbox. Coverage is in force as of the bind effective date. COIs are immediately self-service from this point forward.

How to add an additional insured to a commercial policy

Time: ~2 minutes to submit · carrier turnaround varies

Request an additional-insured endorsement and have it submitted directly to the carrier with no broker email round-trip.

  1. Open Delegance and pick the policy. In the portal: Policies → select the policy → Endorsements → New. Or ask Orin: "Add {entity name} as an additional insured to my GL policy."
  2. Enter the additional insured details. Provide the entity's legal name, address, and the contractually required additional-insured language (blanket, scheduled, completed-ops, etc.). Orin can generate language from a contract upload.
  3. Submit to the carrier. Orin submits the endorsement request directly to the carrier. No broker has to email it on your behalf.
  4. Receive endorsement and updated COI. Carrier returns the endorsement; Delegance attaches it to the policy and offers an updated COI reflecting the new AI. All visible in the portal and across every channel.

How to manage a commercial insurance renewal without a broker phone call

Time: ~30 minutes total over the renewal window

Delegance proactively surfaces renewals months ahead and lets you accept, remarket, or decline self-service.

  1. Receive proactive renewal notice. Delegance surfaces upcoming renewals in your portal queue typically 90 days out, with a structured monthly status email summarizing changes since the prior term.
  2. Decide: accept, remarket, or change scope. Click "Accept renewal" to keep the same carrier. Click "Remarket" to send the renewal as a new quote to the full carrier panel. Or change scope (add lines, drop locations) inline.
  3. Review remarket quotes (if remarketing). New quotes return typically within 24 hours. Compare side-by-side with the incumbent carrier. Pick a winner.
  4. Bind the renewal. Same self-service bind flow as new business. E-sign required forms, pay or finance, binder lands in the portal inbox.
  5. Run audits self-service. Mid-term and end-of-term audits (workers comp, liability) run from the portal — Delegance pre-fills payroll and revenue figures from connected data sources where available.
